| Because I'm basically a prophet and clairvoyant, I'll spoil the season for everyone by letting you all know that the Vikings win the Super Bowl. Sorry. | |

| Im a huge Packers fan, but my Super Bowl prediction is Saints-Colts with the Saints edging out the Colts 38-35. In my own little world, it would be the Packers beating the Patroits 28-20. | |

| My cheesehead faithfulness would never allow me to pick against the Packers, no matter how awful they are or how good the other team they are playing is. I have been a Packers fan since I was 5. | |

| Brady's actually my fav QB. But Favre is very special to me this year. Adrian Peterson is also very special. | |

| Favre is playin like he did when the Pack won the Super Bowl. Plus, he has argueably the best running back in the league. I think the Vikings will make it to the NFC Championship game at least. | |

| Arguably? There's no RB that stands on the same level as Peterson. Plus every football analyst and virtually every hall of fame RB says he's the best.
And now he's adding the passing game to his arsenal. He's already got more catches this year than he did all of last year.

| I dont know I still think its a little crowded at the top of the RB chain (LT, Turner, Peterson, Jones-Drew, etc.) to pick a clear best running back. They all excel in their own ways and they help their teams win games. | |

| I know space, ive seen all of that b4...im not saying he aint good...heck he'll probably be greater than Barry Sanders and Walter Payton. But to say he is the best running back right now isnt that accurate. Being an RB is more than running the football. You have to pick up blitzes, catch passes, know blocking schemes, etc. Besides, the running back doesnt get any yards if there aint an offensive line. | |

| Three phases of a running back, running, catching, picking up blitzes. For recieving and running, you have Westbrook and LT... both are on the path of being washed up. LT is half the back he was two years ago and Westbrook can't stay on the field. For running and picking up blitzes and have Jones Drew... though a person can say rather easily that he's not the best RB in the league.
A person can say "overall running back" and start judging backs on that criteria, and then nitpick at a dozen things and never come to a clear desicion. It would be like saying who's the best overall QB? Can't be Manning or Brady because they have no mobility outside the pocket. Same thing with Brees. Roethlisburger fills that criteria, along with Romo... oh, but Ben is notorious for holding the ball too long before making up his mind, thus taking excessive sacks (like Rogers) and Romo fails in the clutch... See what I mean?
So... then let's define the greatest RBs. Jim Brown. Walter Payton. Barry Sanders. None were receiving backs. None had blazing speed. So would that mean these three RBs aren't three of the greatest, if not the greatest, backs in NFL history? Of course not. Because in the end it's judged on how they ran the ball.
Now what running back in the league right now puts the most fear into the opposing defenses with his uncanny attributes- a power back that can stop and cut on a dime with 4.3 speed- with his ability to run the ball? Adrian Peterson. It's why literally every analyst says with little hesitation that AP is the best back in the league. It's also why Jim Brown says he's the best too.

| Good points...Ill call him the best back in the league when he wins a Super Bowl without Brett Favre. Cuz without Favre the Vikings wouldnt have beaten the Packers either time this year. I believe Peterson had 150 yds combined in those two games. I think having Favre hurt my view as Peterson being the best because now AP doesnt have to play phenomenal game-in and game-out for the Vikings to win. But when you play the Lions twice a year your stats should still be pretty good. | |

| Well, that's a valid point about having Favre now. But then I guess that would also mean that Emmit Smith and Marshal Faulk are disqualified too...
A super bowl win would basically cement everything... but again... how many super bowls did Barry Sanders win? Or LT? Or Jim Brown?
edit: and how come you don't play madden online? Don't have a ps3? I've spent my entire life in AT trying to find someone else that plays.

| Hopefully Ill end this by saying...AP is a phenom...he will be one of the greatest to ever play the game, but we cant extrapolate yet. I will give it some time and then re-evaluate my opinion. | |

| I think it will all come down to how healthy he can stay. Every man in Minnesota almost passed out when Peterson got hurt a couple games back. | |
